The packaging has also evolved over the years and 2005 saw the launch of new-look Brandy. Mackle Petfoods carried out extensive research to see what people thought of their packaging and what its most recognisable features were. We found that consumers instantly recognised the Bernese Mountain Dog that has been used on our packaging for 20 years and believed it to be synonymous with the Brandy brand. They also associated Brandy with the colour red. On our latest generation packaging, the primary colour used is red with the various flavours variations colour coded on-pack. Our new red image makes for a very strong on-shelf presence for Brandy. The changes were subtle but combined to refresh the overall imagery and make Premium Brandy more contemporary.
